Having your baby in the NICU is undoubtedly an emotional and challenging experience for families, and we at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center are committed to supporting you through every step of this journey. Our staff is here to ensure that you and your baby are well cared for and connected, even during this critical time. Here are some ways we can help:
Follow-up Call by a Lactation Consultant: After you’ve been discharged, our lactation consultants will reach out to check on your breastfeeding progress, offer guidance, and answer any questions you may have.
Assistance with Breastfeeding: On days you visit your baby, you can request support from our team to begin nursing your baby. We want to help make that process as smooth as possible for you and your little one.
NICU Support Group: We understand that this can be a very emotional time, so we offer a NICU support group that meets every 1st Tuesday of the month in the 2N classroom. It’s a chance to connect with other parents who are going through similar experiences and receive additional emotional and practical support.
Remember, we are here to support you in any way we can. Your well-being and your baby’s care are our top priorities. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns, and we will do everything we can to assist you during this important time.
